Terabase Enhances Haystack by Integrating National Forging Tooling Database (NFTD)

 

Danvers, Mass (July 2005) - Terabase Corporation has announced the inclusion of the National Forging Tooling Database in the Haystack service for its client Information Handling Services (IHS). 

This integration, which was accomplished via collaboration with Forging Defense Manufacturing Consortium, Advanced Technology Institute, the University of Toledo, and Plexus Systems, links over 90,000 tooling number in the NFTD with Haystack's parts and logistics data.  The links include matching manufacturer's part numbers and government National Stock Numbers (NSNs) so that customers can identify, locate, search, and procure items that require forged tools.

According to Information Handling Services, the inclusion of this new database solves supply chain problems and enables customers to make better business and logistics decisions while also improving productivity, lowering maintenance costs and meeting compliance and safety mandates
